Shelter in Place Ordered - Important Update

We hope that this message finds you well during this difficult time. We want you to know about the following temporary operating adjustments that we are making until we are through the current public health crisis and with the shelter in place order issued today by the County of Monterey.

We are asking our team to work from home full time. Many of us already work from home on a regular, albeit periodic, basis. For many years we have been completely paperless and fully digital with all our files and all our systems securely hosted at redundant secure sites. This shift will be transparent to our clients, but we wanted to share that we are conscious of the need to do our part to protect our families, our communities and our clients.

Except for limited attendance based on a specific need, our offices will not be physically accessible to our clients effective Wednesday, March 17th. The doors will be closed, and the offices will not be open to anyone other than our authorized staff performing essential business services or minimum basic operations. We will still be available via phone, email and text β€” there will be no change in our ability to communicate with you. Our technology will allow us to continue to answer our office phones as normal and process your vital work as normal.

For anyone with an already-scheduled appointment one of our team members will be contacting you to confirm the time and the appointment will be handled via telephone.

Clients who previously received hard copy financial statements and/or tax returns will only receive electronic copies until the situation stabilizes and the shelter order is lifted at which time hard copies will be available. Clients who have traditionally provided us with original documents via hard copy for our use will now only be able to provide us with electronic copies.  We have two highly secure and easy-to-use client portals through which we can securely exchange information.  Call our office at our normal phone number and we will be sure you fully understand how to easily use our systems for sharing documents.

Other than not being physically in our offices together, the entire team at Scholl & Company, LLP will be just that, your team dedicated to your business and financial success. Thank you for your cooperation and we look forward to again meeting in person as the current health crisis is resolved.

Please call us at (831) 758-5966 with any questions or concerns you may have. We will post updated tax, financial and business operations information regarding the current health crisis to help keep you informed.
